Welcome back, Timberwolves, to a new year and a new semester.
This week not only kicked off a new semester of classes, but it also served to launch the preview of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Northwood University has been a partner to the show for many years, and this year several of our Northwood students will once again be along for the ride.
We have students from our Entertainment Sports Promotion Management program assisting with event set-up and tear-down, updating content for the NAIAS website, and planning youth events for NAIAS Education Day and Industry Preview events. We will also have students from our Automotive Aftermarket majors working one-on-one with companies such as Hendrickson, Denso and Minimizer. Members of the Executive Board of our own 2017 Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) were also permitted to work and tour the show during the Industry Preview days, getting great new ideas for our Auto Show, and assisting the Detroit Automobile Dealers Association (DADA) with public relations.
These opportunities set the Northwood experience apart. Our students are working on a national stage to advance their knowledge of the industry and make valuable connections that will set them apart as they pursue their future endeavors.
As we drive forward into the spring semester, we look forward to a new year full of promise. I am confident the students, faculty and staff of Northwood University will continue to make a difference in our community and beyond.
Have a great weekend!
