Making History and Leading the Pack

As our students prepare for the final weeks of classes, and some prepare for the next step in their lives, we celebrate their accomplishments and look forward to their bright futures. For some, spring is their season. Perseverance, hard work and dedication are required to be a student athlete. Northwood’s athletes are great examples of students using their own skills to high achievement, and applauding the skills of others, ideals fundamental to the Northwood Idea.

Leaders on the court, on the diamond and on the field, Northwood students achieve the personal development necessary to be the leader’s businesses need. This spring, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) recognized 42 winter athletes from Northwood as All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence team members. Women’s basketball, specifically, boasted three more all-academic excellence athletes than any other team in the GLIAC.

Speaking of excellence, it has been a record-breaking season for the Timberwolf baseball team! This year’s team is statistically the best in the history of Northwood University, and that is something to celebrate. As of today, they are leading the GLIAC.This weekend, Northwood baseball looks to defend their top spot against the second placed team.

Spring sports tend to battle the elements and are held at the busiest time of the year for our students. I hope members of the Northwood community come out to support all of our events and take the opportunity to celebrate each other’s achievements.

Have a great weekend!
