Where Innovation Meets Education

January in Michigan means one thing for automotive enthusiasts: the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This week industry professionals, universities and associations descended upon the Motor City for the annual show, and our Northwood University students were once again there for the action.

In addition to attending the show to see how a world-class international event is run, our students are there serving as interns, monitoring social media, and soaking up the excitement of the industry’s storied show. Hands-on opportunities like this are the types of experiences which set our students apart from others. Whether it’s in an internship over the summer or in their career after graduation, Northwood students can take what they have learned in a real industry setting and turn it into their competitive edge.

I look forward to hearing from our students who attended the NAIAS this industry week, and I know the experience will spark new and innovative ideas for our own show this fall. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to catch Northwood’s “Meet the Innovators” spotlight by Click-On-Detroit/Channel 4.

If you make your way to Detroit this weekend, enjoy the show!

Have a great weekend,

Keith
