Aftermarket Chair, Sean Benét is a junior at Northwood University studying Aftermarket Marketing Management. Sean has been surrounded by the automotive industry for nearly his entire life. Whether it be working for a Bosch Independent Service Center, competing in the Mazda Spec Miata Series, or being the Aftermarket Chair for this year’s auto show – Sean’s passion for cars is evident in nearly everything he does.
Prior to leading the Aftermarket Division, Sean was captain of Radical Sportscars and won “Best Aftermarket Display” in 2017. He has been able to translate that success to this year’s show, with over 30 companies confirmed to be featured throughout the division. “Cars have been my passion as I’ve grown up. Naturally, the NUIAS is what originally motivated me to apply to Northwood. The show provides a unique experience for students that many cannot find anywhere else.”
Outside of NUIAS, Sean is very involved at Northwood both as a brother of Alpha Sigma Phi, and a former resident advisor.
The Co-Aftermarket Chair is Andrew Bower, a junior from Byron Center, MI, studying Aftermarket Marketing Management and Finance. Andrew has previously held internships with EventLink LLC as well as Mahle. Andrew hopes to showcase the diversity of aftermarket with this year’s show, from performance to off-road.
NUIAS gives students a unique opportunity for hands on experience, especially for Andrew, a self-proclaimed Jeep-fanatic. “From freshman team members to the executive board general chair, there are learning opportunities at every level of the auto show. I participate because, at the most basic level, I am a gear head through and through. My goal is to share that passion with others through this organization.”
Andrew has enjoyed his time here at Northwood and has taken advantage of more than just auto show, including being the president of the Aftermarket Club, opportunities through the aftermarket program, as well as the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. “The automotive opportunities made available to students at Northwood are absolutely incredible and the connections that you make along this journey will last a lifetime.”
