Giving Thanks for Family and Friends

Thanksgiving is a time for family. The ideals of faith, family and friends distinguish Northwood University, reminding us to always be thankful for one another. This year our Northwood family reflects on two of those members who are no longer with us.

As families have individual roles within them, the members of our Northwood family each have roles serving our students and their success. Faculty member Michael Cesal was a respected instructor who will be missed by students, faculty and staff; many of whom gathered Monday on campus to honor his memory.

The late Dr. John A. “Jack” Hohman was one of the stalwarts of our family, a member of our Board of Trustees for 40 years, and a lifelong friend of Northwood University. His strong support of the Northwood Idea is a lasting legacy we will carry on in his honor.

We keep the families of both Michael and Jack in our thoughts and prayers because they too are an extension of our Northwood family. As we reflect on our losses, we also look to the future and the legacy of what we have learned from those who came before us, and we give thanks for faith, family and friends.

I wish all members of the Northwood family a safe and restful Thanksgiving holiday.
