Crossing Over and Kicking Off the Year

Welcome, Timberwolves! Today marks the official welcome to the new school year for all of Northwood University’s new freshmen students, and we are excited to introduce them to our vibrant campus. All summer, staff, faculty and students have been laying the groundwork for an exciting year, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds.

This afternoon at the annual Crossover Ceremony, high school students will become Timberwolves. The annual event signifies the turning of a page into an important chapter: university life. I always look forward to meeting our students as they cross the stage!

Tomorrow, the first ever Go MAD March Downtown event will be taking place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in downtown Midland. At this event, Northwood faculty, staff and students are invited to start at the Northwood Gallery store at 5:30 to pick up a passport and map that will help guide them through downtown while visiting different businesses and restaurants. New students will also get to know some of the incredible representatives of Midland community agencies and United Way partners that Northwood plans to work closely with all year at each stop. This is a great opportunity for our community to come together and to celebrate the many things that make Midland a great community to be part of.

As the final days of summer trickle away and we prepare for classes to start next Monday, I hope everyone has a safe trip back to their campus home and I look forward to the best year yet!

Have a great weekend,

Keith
